JP Morgan named James Ferguson as global head of the alternative investment services (AIS) unit, as the bank seeks to establish itself as a market leader in servicing alternative clients. The AIS division focuses on administration, accounting and custody for hedge fund and private equity clients and will be based in New York. Ferguson will replace Stephanie Miller, who became head of global fund services in August 2014. In his new role, Ferguson will "define strategic direction and product offerings, market coverage, investment prioritization, overall business and P&L decisions," according to a bank memo.
